The Red Alert incoming rocket siren was triggered Thursday evening in a southern Israeli community near the Gaza border. “The details are being checked out,” the IDF said.

A similar incident took place in the wee hours of Thursday morning, at around 2:30 am, when southern Israeli families in the city of Sderot and the community of Yivim were awakened by the air raid siren. They were forced to grab their sleeping children and race to their safe rooms and nearby bomb shelters as well.

IDF Iron Dome fighters intercepted the rocket that was launched by Gaza terrorists to attack Israel’s Jewish families as they slept in their beds.

No one was physically injured and no property damage was reported.

In response to the rocket fire, IDF fighter jets struck a Hamas weapons factory in the enclave. “We hold Hamas responsible for the events transpiring in the Gaza Strip and emanating from it,” the IDF said in a statement.
