IDF fighter jets attacked more than 20 Hamas terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning, in retaliation for the shooting of a Grad rocket at Israeli civilians in Beersheba. The Gaza targets included an attack tunnel, military compounds, weapons production sites, and the opening to a maritime terrorist tunnel belinging to the Hamas naval force.

In one attack, an IAF aircraft launched a rocket at a terrorist squad in the northern Gaza Strip caught red-handed during an attempt to fire rockets into Israeli territory.

Wednesday’s attacks hit a wide deployment of significant Hamas assets along the Gaza Strip border.

During the attacks, a red alert was activated in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council.

“Hamas must understand that the responsibility for what happened in the Gaza Strip tonight, and continues to happen there, rests with it, and there is no need blame it on other elements,” said IDF Spokesman Ronen Manlis.
