  1. Or, it is just as possible that Sharon, like his successors, would have responded to the barrage of rockets following the Gaza withdrawal by concluding that further unilateral withdrawals would accomplish nothing and not proceeded further – essentially leading to the same status quo as we have now. Perhaps he would have responded to the rocket attacks more aggressively. We will never know.

  2. Arik Sharon would surely have responded very forcefully to rockets from Gaza, particularly if this could disrupt his larger plans for withdrawal from the West Bank.

  3. Had Sharon been healthy, he would have had to answer the accusations of corruption. The continuation of the process of trying to withdraw while facing corruption charges would have driven him from office in disgrace. The development of the internet increased the pluralism of ideas in the Israeli public, thereby preventing a repeat of the brainwashing which enabled the expulsion. That's my speculation, also worth very little. Has Sharon stayed healthy, he might have behaved differently as well. Who knows what the developing situation in his brain did to his mind? His doctors also should have done bariatric surgery on his gut years ago.

  5. In my opinion as a senior American jew , I say that what ariel Sharon did against the settlers who he sent their in the first place, deserved the stroke that he received. I for one will never forget the black shirted Israeli soldiers pulling the settlers from their homes. What a disgrace. I spit on him and his memory.

  6. That's why the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Israel silenced him before his time! I believe, even now, YHWH holds the controls of the future of Israel – His people – and never le go off His hands! I wish Israel as a nation believes this.
