J Street’s Blindness, Mohammed’s Dream and Israel’s Nightmare

We live in a world where a people returning to it’s ancestral home is accused of occupation, and redemption has become colonialism.
To think that after 1300 years of relentless Muslim attacks, an agreement based on territorial concessions will bring peace is just another J street delusion.

To think that after 1300 years of relentless Muslim attacks, an agreement based on territorial concessions will bring peace is just another J street delusion.

The New York Times reported on Monday that the group called the American Studies Association (of almost 5000 members), approved a boycott resolution against Israel, by a 2-to-1 margin in an online balloting that concluded Sunday night, with about a quarter of the members voting (1,252).

The statement cited “Israel’s violations of international law and U.N. resolutions; the documented impact of the Israeli occupation on Palestinian scholars and students; the extent to which Israeli institutions of higher education are a party to state policies that violate human rights,” and other factors.

The American Studies Association has never before called for an academic boycott of any nation’s universities, said Curtis Marez, the group’s president and an associate professor of ethnic studies at the University of California, San Diego. He did not dispute that many nations, including many of Israel’s neighbors, are generally judged to have human rights records that are worse than Israel’s, or comparable, but he said, “one has to start somewhere.” This is only one example in a large and growing campaign of boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel.

We live in a world where a people returning to it’s ancestral home is accused of occupation, and redemption has become colonialism. It’s a world in which discourse no longer exists, where tweeting and the dissemination of snippets of information dictate the course of events. We must rise above the elegant slogans of the left, and develop what Bertrand Russell called “immunity to eloquence.”

“Propaganda must not investigate the truth… and… present only that aspect of the truth which is favorable to its own side… The receptive powers of the masses are very restricted, and their understanding is feeble. On the other hand, they quickly forget. Such being the case, all effective propaganda must be confined to a few bare essentials and those must be expressed as far as possible in stereotyped formulas. These slogans should be persistently repeated until the very last individual has come to grasp the idea that has been put forward… Every change that is made in the subject of a propagandist message must always emphasize the same conclusion. The leading slogan must of course be illustrated in many ways and from several angles, but in the end one must always return to the assertion of the same formula.”

This quote is from Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

Slogans such as Occupation, and Land for Peace, advanced by the Muslim delegitimization campaign against Israel, groups like the ASA, and a hodgepodge of other left wing anti-Zionist and Antisemitic organizations, which appeal to a deep rooted and innate sense of justice, have become an integral part of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) was created in 1964, and was one of many national liberation movements of that era. In its 1968 charter, the Palestine National Council (PNC) resolved that; Palestine is the homeland of the Arab Palestinian people; The Palestinian identity is a genuine, essential, and inherent characteristic; Zionism is a political movement organically associated with international imperialism. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Muslims have assimilated the principles of Nazi propaganda so well that today this perversity of reality is universally accepted, even by so called academics. They are even embraced and disseminated by the George Soros’ supported J Street, and other left wing American Jewish groups who are blind to he reality of the Middle East.

The land of Israel was first conquered by Joshua around 1200 BCE. The peoples who inhabited the land at the time are long extinct. Ever since then, the history of the People of Israel is a story of the victories, defeats, exiles, and redemption. The first wave of the Muslim conquests of the Land of Israel ushered in 465 years of nonstop war. Jerusalem fell in 638 after a long siege, Ashkelon fell in 644, while Caesarea endured a siege that lasted, off and on, for 7 years, and it was the last to fall. The Muslim Conquests that began at the start of the seventh century continued in waves until the creation of the State of Israel, which put an end to the repeated penetrations by Muslim invaders. The Muslim occupation of the land of Israel has been the longest continuous imperialistic and colonialist conquest in the history of mankind.

According to Muslim sources (which may be highly exaggerated), in Caesarea alone there were some 200,000 Jews at the time of the first Muslim invasion. The exact size of the Jewish population in Israel at the time is difficult determine, but it is accepted that at the time of Byzantine rule the land of Israel was densely populated. The estimated numbers vary between 1,000,000 and a maximum of 4,000,000 inhabitants, many of them Jews. As a result of the Muslim conquests, hundreds of thousands of Jews, Christians, and Samaritans were murdered. By the end of the 19th century, as a consequence of multiple waves of Muslim attacks, the population in Palestine was down to about 300,000, of which only 6,000–34,000 were Jewish.

Islam’s claim to the land of Israel is rooted in a dream that Mohammed had about ascending to heaven from Jerusalem (al-Mi’raj, “the ascent”). Israel’s claim to the land is thousands of years older than Islam’s, and is anchored in biblical history, archaeology, and millennia of continuous Jewish presence in the land of Israel. It is a simple matter of choice between an eloquent tale about a dream and historic reality. Towards the end of the 10th century Muslim intellectuals closed the door on new independent interpretation of the Koran—Ijtihad, and Mohammed’s dream became Islam’s reality. Unfortunately, in our Hollywood-ruled-world the merchants of dreams often prevail, and Muhammad’s dream has become Israel’s nightmare.

Palestinians in Israel may be victims of social injustice and discrimination, but their claims of occupation and demands of land for peace resolution are not founded in reality. Despite the propaganda of J Street, European antisemitism, and Arab lies, the only ongoing occupation that exists today in Israel has resulted from waves of recurrent Muslim attacks on the inhabitants of the land of Israel that have endured for 1400 years. In the modern era, these attacks have taken the form of the Arab invasion of Israel in 1947, the fedayeen attacks of the 1950’s, and of suicide bombers in the wake of the Oslo accord. Israel has had a 50 year long opportunity to shift the discourse back to the realm of reality, but she has failed to do so.

According to the Ijtihad, further new interpretations the Koran are restricted, especially in cases about which there was a consensus, Ijma. As a result, innovations, new ideas, and new cultural points of view are prohibited by Islam. Islamic attitudes towards Jews were therefore fixed at the end of the 10th century, and are no longer subject to further juristic interpretation. As a consequence of Ijitihad, Jews (according to Islam) will forever remain the sons of monkeys and pigs, and in Islam’s vision of the end of days even the silent rock (behind which the Jews were hiding) will open it’s mouth and turn the infidel Jews into the hands of the believers. It is unfortunate that the Quran did not borrow from the Old Testament’s vision of the end of days of the wolf and the lamb.

Secretary John Kerry is tightening the screws on Israel in a land for peace deal backed by security guaranties by President Barack Obama so that he can record a hat-trick for the Obama team (Syria and Iran being the other two). Given Islam’s view of the world, which divides it into two, Dar al-Harb (abode of war) and Dar al-Islam (the abode of peace), Muslim acceptance of a modern, democratic, egalitarian, gay tolerant, and innovative Jewish state in the midst of an Ijitihad bound Arab world is unlikely to ever become a reality.

To think that after 1300 years of relentless Muslim attacks, an agreement based on territorial concessions will bring peace is just another J street delusion.

  1. j-street = kapos self hating anti semites

  2. this isn’t new it was the jewish members of the soviet communist party under v.i. lenin who did the commies dirty work and murdered the non communist jewish comm. leadership, they arrested and murdered the rabbi’s, teachers comm. leaders etc

  3. The cowardly Kerry and his boss the islamic POTUS, can be trusted to be hateful towards Israel, to trust either of them is to invite tragedy and terror, indeed our own doom! In any case, ultimately; "They must go!."

This piece takes the easy way out here, abetted by a NY Times editor who cut back Marez's quote to 5 words after the first version of the story included two paragraphs explaining the ASA's position in more detail. Here is the rest of the quote: "He argued that the United States has “a particular responsibility to answer the call for boycott because it is the largest supplier of military aid to the state of Israel.” While acknowledging that the same could be said of a number of oppressive governments, past and present, he said that in those countries, civil society groups had not asked his association for a boycott, as Palestinian groups have." Both of these things are true, but it's far easier for right-wing hacks to generate a reductive meme that pretends this is all Marez said. Irresponsible, shoddy journalism about a serious issue. Your readers deserve something better than a caricature of what was actually said.

  5. John Newman says:

Agree. They are assimilated Jews who are not Jewish patriots.

  6. I am cynical enough to believe that J Street is not deluded at all, but rather that they oppose Israel's existence and seek Israel's destruction. They are just too cowardly and hypocritical to say so openly.

  7. Those who say that Israel never lived in Jerusalem simply refuse to look at facts. The Roman arch of the General Titus is still standing in Rome today and celebrates his victory over Israel in Jerusalem. It even shows Romans taking the Holy items from the temple.
God has returned Israel to his land and they will never be removed from it again. ANY give away of God’s land is a sin in God’s eyes. Rather it’s from a US deal or any other. I pray for peace but all too often what takes place is war. In the middle east we have wars and rumors of wars and sometimes rumors of peace on an almost weekly basis. The agreement with Iran makes it clear that Iran will continue to enrich uranium, and I doubt that Israel can actually take such a big chance. Current intelligence seems uncertain of when Iran could get the bomb and Israel cannot afford to gamble with this. Time IS running out. Another question is rather or not the Russian/Syrian agreement will do the trick in Syria? Stay tuned. I wrote a small 6 or 7 page book that talks about what I believe the Bible states will take place soon as well as the potential trends I see at this time. I don’t accept donations and it’s free. It’s a short read. I encourage you to have a look: http://www.booksie.com/religion_and_spirituality/book/richard_b_barnes/after-the-rapture-whats-next

  8. One day Israel’s foes will be over.

  9. So it was Hitler that came up with the idea of keeping political slogans short and repeating them non-stop until every idiot in the crowd becomes a drone in a hive of stupidity? We have him to thank for the dumbing down of American politics?

  10. JStreet is an enemy of Israel and actually supports Hamas and Hizbollah and their leader, Noam Chomsky has told them that they were justified in attacking Israel. J Street is a traitorous group. It supports the Palestinians right or wrong.

  11. Chinese says:

I can not believe 5000 people joined American’s Stupid Association.

  12. Earl W. Littlefield Jr says:

Boycott & abolish the American Studies Association……
