A Jewish Norwegian boy's neck was firebranded by a coin last Monday.

Med Israel for Fred (MIFF, “With Israel for Peace” in Norwegian), a non-religious, Norwegian pro-Israel organization, has gained access to a private cell phone image showing the result of an attack at a school barbecue last Monday. A 16-year-old Jewish boy was eating a grilled chicken when a red-hot coin was placed on his neck by fellow students, making very visible burns on the boys neck.
According to Norwegian blogger Conrad Myrland, quoting the Jewish boy’s mother, the attacking students had heated the coin on the grill and pressed it onto the boy’s neck. The red hot coin burned through to the flesh.
On Tuesday afternoon, the boy’s mother said that a teacher had observed the incident and told the culprit “you’re mad.” Yet no representative from the school made contact with the mother afterwards.
This fits into a pattern from the school, the mother said. In March, 2010, she told Norwegian TV channel NRK that school staff failed to intervene in anti-Semitic incidents, applying a policy of avoidance.
“I see this avoidance as a dangerous development among both ethnic Norwegian and immigrant groups,” she told the NRK. “Nobody, neither teachers nor principals, intervene in this matter. There is a refusal to address these issues, it is too sensitive.”
In the 2010 interview, the boy’s mother, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke about “clear anti-Semitic harassment, expressed verbally and physically.”
“They say they are going to kill all the Jews, and use offensive language such as ‘Jewish pigs’ and ‘Jewish Satan,’” she added.

His mother seems to think this is part of a pattern at the school.
Is this an anti-semitic incident? Where is the evidence that this crime was motivated by hatred for Jews? You present no evidence, only a very flimsy statements associated with the description of this crime. Who are the "they" in the final sentence?
Crimes are not automatically anti-semitic just by their being perpetrated against Jews. This boy suffered a terrible crime, but he is victimized again when his circumstances are reported out of context to fight someone's agenda. This article is alarmist, misleading, and very poorly written.
This does not surprise me, there is so much hatred spewed every day on facebook about the Jews being the bad guys n I am appalled at how everything spoken about Israel or the Jews is negative. But our Christian brothers n sisters face the same threat. Look at how many churches are being bombed in Nigeria n all around the world. We r the most hated people on the planet by others that would like to destroy the Jews n the Christians. We need to stand together n not let our enemies overwhelm us with their hatred. God is still on our side n will help fight the enemy.
And where exactly are the humanitarian agencies when it comes to a situation like this?

very sad and brutal. The person/people that did this should be punished and held responsible.
The school must be punished by the province or state. Teachers are given no authority to punish and often are written bad evaluations if they cause any parent to complain.Al so, the kids should be charged with a crime.I do NOT think any school punishment would be adequate.A Jewish organization must put pressure on the school district and the politicians of that province.
