Palestinian Authority Says US to Increase Aid to $440

The United States will increase its aid to the Palestinian Authority by $14 million in 2014, bringing the American contributions to Mahmoud Abbas’ regime to $440 million, according to Maen Rashid Areikat, the PA’s chief representative in Washington.

He added that the funds will be funneled through United States Agency for International Development (USAID) except for $70 million that will be given directly to the Palestinian Authority.

The announcement came on the eve of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s return to Israel to pressure both the Palestinian Authority and Israel to make progress in discussions for establishing the Palestinian Authority as a country. Kerry brings with him a suitcase full of sticks and carrots to force both sides to cooperate with him, and financial aid is one of the biggest carrots on which he counting to keep Abbas munching and happy.

  1. I’m a tax payer and I do not approve of increasing money to the Palestinians.

  3. Luis Lalama says:

here we are once again increasing millions of dollars to Palestinians so they can use this money to make Abbas a multimillionaire individual, the same way we made Arafat , and for them to purchase weapons and use those weapons against Israel and Americans and of course J Kerry the self proclaimed hero of the Vietnam War

  5. Ben II says:

The Obama admin. is funding terrorism, as they funded the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Al Queda in Syria.

  6. My question is…
Where has all of the money gone to that has been given to the palestinians already? Unlike the money going to Israel which is being used to take care of ALL Israelis, it is obviously not going to the palestinian people besides abbas and others in control of “palestine”!

  7. I am a Native American, Mr. or Ms. Palestinian American, and I stand with Israel. She already has a "burden"… that of keeping watch over greedy Palestinians like Abbas who take American money to line his own pockets and war machines instead of taking care of his people.
