Palestinians Shout Down Visiting Pro-Israel Egyptian Blogger

A-y1cw0CYAA4-LE[1]

Egyptian blogger, Maikel Nabil Sanad, was shouted down today during his visit to Israel… by Arab students studying at Hebrew University. The protesters were screaming, “Shame on you”.

Sanad is visiting Israel on a trip organized by UNWatch.

Sanad was the first blogger arrested in Egypt after Mubarak’s fall. He was arrested by the military, and held in prison for 10 months, where he held a 120 day hunger strike, demanding his release.

Sanad, born into an Christian Copt family, is a liberal secularist and  doesn’t believe that Egyptians have had the opportunity to hold free elections, since the atmosphere created by the Muslim Brotherhood does not permit an environment where the actual will of the Egyptian people can be expressed.

He is very fearful about the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, and compares what they’re going to do, to what Hamas did in Gaza, particularly regarding the oppression of women.

Oh, and he also admires and supports Israel , which would explain the shout-down.

But what would explain the Arab (“Palestinian”) protesters’ hypocrisy? After all, they’re the ones studying at the Hebrew University.

  1. Luba Pankiw Lallouz says:

Wow, talk about democracy in Israel, and these students can get away with it! But in an arab country they would most likely be arrested if they did this! Give me a break with these morons! They have no idea how lucky they are to be living in a free society!

  2. Tim Upham says:

If they shouted out "Shame on you," I would have counteracted by shouting out "Good for you."

  3. Ethan Perks says:

What did he expect? He might think about emigrating to Israel. He's likely a dead man in Egypt.

  4. Sari Freitekh says:

Arab students are not hypocrite: They were on this land before "Israel" was founded, the Arabs are indigenous to the land, it is you who are not. Those students study at the Hebrew University, those indigenous residents of the land need an education, they don't need to leave their homeland to get an education else-where. Israel is the occupying power and does have universities, which admit Arab students. I see no hypocrisy whatsoever, I see your own hypocrisy in wanting those Arab students to remain without an education. Free Speech? These students understand it better than any of you idiots commenting.

http://www.zionism-israel.com study real history not fake historical narrative.

    • Sari, When you understand history and not its revised version of it then you will stop the knee-jerk emotional outburst and use your head to clear the air for the truth. Your response is so confused and so sad since you are unwilling to come to terms that life is complex and that REALITY is a Jewish State on this land and it wil never go away. It is Democratic and allows ALL of its citizens the right to get an education regardless of their religion. No one owes anyone anything. It is part of the Jewish ethical and moral strength that in spite of potential enemies within we continue to hold tightly to our priniciples. We are not perfect but strive to improve the way of life and equality for the entire region. Your anger and hatred is an impediment to freedom in the region.

    • Sari Freitekh says:

I have no clue what you're talking about. I was making a point regarding the author's claim that Arab students are hypocrite for attending a Jewish University and still attack a pro-Israeli person. That is specifically what I find offensive: We, the Palestinian citizens of Israel, owe no one anything. We were here before the creation of the state of Israel. Not everyone is capable of getting an education abroad in order not to be called a hypocrite, I see no confusion. And yes, if Israel is a democracy (which it is far from reality: Arab members of the Knesset, if do not comply with Zionist ideologies are often referred to as terrorists, dismembered, in at least one case had their citizenship taken away from them, and are denied entering the elections.) then you bet your ass I'll speak my mind and feel free to do so no matter what price I'll pay.

    • Sari Freitekh says:

Thomas Braun I find your sources for history to be utterly discreditable. How about YOU get some real education on your own Khazarian history which has nothing to do with Judaism nor the first Israelite?

    • Tareq Alfar says:

This Zionist Nazi colony aka "Jewish state" is in the countdown of its remaining days on this earth .. and will go down in history to those ignorant

    • Sari, instead of yelling and insulting how about we settle this with some facts. If you show me a Arab Palestine State pre Israel, I will give my house to a refugee of your choice. BUT if you come to the realization that Jerusalem and Hebron where Jewish before an Islam every existed you become pro Israel. Deal?

    • Daniel Reyes says:

Sari, if you believe that a particular group of people should exit an entire geographical area because they werent the 'original inhabitants', then Muslims must leave all lands outside of the Arabian peninsula. Take time to read about the Islamic invasions of what is today Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, India and other parts of Asia. There were people that existed in those areas long before the brutal invasions of Islam. Many of these people have been completely wiped out and/or marginalized. A great example is the Armenian Genocide which took place in what is today Turkey. 1.5 – 2 million Armenian Christians slaughtered in the early 20th century. Lets get those savages out and give the Armenians back their country. Furthermore, Istanbul, which was formerly Constantinople, was the center of Eastern Christendom but was repeatedly attacked for centuries by Islamic invaders. The city eventually fell in the 15th century. So using your standard of logic, Turkish Muslims have illegally occupied Constantinople for over 500 years.
I encourage you to READ, EDUCATE yourself and learn about history objectively.. not through the narrow eyes of your skewed beliefs.

  5. These "students" should be expelled from the university. They obviously do not belong there.

  6. Yechiel Baum says:

Have those shouting him down attend university in Egypt or in Syria, Palestine and see what typoe of lifestye and education and at whose cost will they receive.

  7. Sydney Kahn says:

The morons are the faculty who let these bigots into their university. When will these crying liberals learn. These same bigots will be killing your children in the future. Wake up.

  8. Sydney Kahn says:

Mr. Freitekh. Many arab countries not only barred Jews from university, but forced them out of the country. Arabs born in Israel are given the chance to go to university, and it is obviously not appreciated. Why stay in Israel if they are unhappy? Some arab countries may accept them, and their mistaken beliefs. The faster they leave Israel, the better.
