Rabbi Attacked in Netherlands

By: JTA

A chief rabbi of the Netherlands said unidentified individuals hurled stones at his home in what he said was the second anti-Semitic attack on him in a week.

Rabbi Binyomin Jacobs said the latest attack took place at 5 a.m. Thursday, when two stones were hurled through a window of his home in Amersfoort.

An earlier incident outside his home on July 10 ended without damage, he said. Jacobs’ home has been targeted five times in recent years, he told JTA.

“The fact that these attacks are recurrent shows the depth of hatred that exists against Jews,” he added.

On Thursday, the pro-Israel organization CIDI prepared for a support rally to express solidarity with Israel for its military operation against Hamas and other terrorists in Gaza. Israel launched the operation last week amid ongoing rocket fire on Israeli cities and towns.

One Israeli and more than 200 Palestinians have been killed in the fighting, which triggered a wave of anti-Semitic incidents across Western Europe and especially France.

Anti-Israel protesters said they would hold a counterdemonstration opposite the CIDI rally at Amsterdam’s Dam Square.

Khalid Sinouh, a goalkeeper for Rotterdam’s Sparta soccer team, called CIDI “a criminal organization” and a “pro-apartheid organization” on Twitter on Thursday, the Telegraaf daily reported

  2. some of these “unidentified individuals” must be shot…or sent home

  3. Be strong and have faith in HASHEM; all over the world are those who simply lack the intellect to be tolerant and proper education to abstain from violence and hatred; they are dammed for all eternity because of their unwarranted hatred and psychiatric retarded way of thinking; be vigilant and alert to avoid danger; justice is with HASHEM!

  13. Disgraceful, why has Europe not learned from the past, maybe because it only paid lip service to it and did not really disagree with actions of Germany et al?

  14. I have learned that gentiles are cowardly and always attack in the dark, under cover, or when you’re not home. We have a right to live wherever we please if others can without attacks from local Christians. Maybe this rabbi has Muslims to worry about too. He is mostly likely not armed. I am.

  15. Police: Are you doing something to agitate neighbors? What is that Jewish thing in your window, and on your door? Take them down and hide them. Are you inciting them? Oh, goodness, Christians love Jews. It can’t be US. (And that’s just from police). I wonder what like in Holland.

  17. We wouldn’t presume to tell Europe how it run their affairs. But we can remind them to, quite simply, punish their criminals. Arrest the scumbags who are throwing stones on a guy’s windows. Even if they choose to turn a blind eye to the fact that he’s a rabbi and there’s a clear purpose here, just because going around throwing stones at people’s windows IS a crime. But maybe they are so pervaded with fundamentalists and terrorists these days that they have severely lowered the bar for what indeed constitutes a crime. In the 30s-40s, it was the nazis. Now it is the terrorists. They choose their mentors from only the best….

  20. To be fair, Holland and a few other places had people then who did ‘disagree’ with the Nazis and acted out on that. They are not the same countries today.
