US State Dept. Rejects Recent Israeli Announcements on Settlements

Mark C. Toner, DOS Deputy Spokesperson, on Monday night released this statement: The United States opposes all unilateral actions, including West Bank settlement activity and housing construction in East Jerusalem, as they complicate efforts to resume direct, bilateral negotiations, and risk prejudging the outcome of those negotiations. This includes building in the E-1 area as this area is particularly sensitive and construction there would be especially damaging to efforts to achieve a two-state solution.

We have made clear to the Israeli Government that such action is contrary to U.S. policy. The United States and the international community expect all parties to play a constructive role in efforts to achieve peace. We urge the parties to cease unilateral actions and take concrete steps to return to direct negotiations so all the issues can be discussed and the goal of two states living side by side in peace and security can be realized.

Why the hell don’t they urge the PLO aka PA to stop every uniliteral step? Don’t they see that “peace talks” are long dead?!

  6. Benjamin Rau says:

Listening to anything the US government has to say is an infringement on the peace process, as is permitting Palestinians to reamin illegally in Israeli territories known as the Gaza Strip and the West Bank…

The U.S. with its Muslim-terrorist-loving president – ha! Pretty soon, the U.S. won't have a single ally left! Former allies will look at all the friends that the U.S. betrayed and say, Never again will we believe anything the U.S. says. Pretty soon, the U.S. will be going under financially, and no one will care what it says. Pretty soon, no one will loan America money. Its dollar will no longer be the reserve currency of the world. It will have no friends except the lying, thieving, murdering Islamist terrorists, who will enslave Americans, destroy America just as they've destroyed Europe. WAKE UP, AMERICA! SUPPORT ISRAEL! DEFEAT JIHAD!

  9. Joe Ritchie says:

Why must it always be Israel backing down. US does nothing to stop the terrorist.

  11. And so the US will keep talking while Israel creates "facts on the ground" and the Palestinians, moderates and fanatics, secular and religious alike, are gradually pushed off their land because, in the words of that revered Zionist ideologue Jabotinsky himself, they happen to love the same land and will only abandon it by brute force, halleluja, the justification of ethnic cleansing is just the same "brute force" argument as that of terrorism, but just some day the US and the whole civilised world just might have had enough.

    who cares.

  13. Israel should say to the state Dept. "go to hell'.
