ISIS Slaughters 450 Captured Syrian Soldiers Since Wednesday

Thursday, August 28th, 2014

During the past 2 days, ISIS slaughtered 450 Syrian soldiers whom they captured, many were unarmed at the time they were captured.

Initially, 250 Syrian soldiers who ran away during the battle for Al Tabka airport were captured and killed. Those soldiers had run away, many leaving their guns behind, and were hiding in fields west of the airport.

Not knowing they were dead, Assad then sent in 200 more soldiers to rescue the captured Syrian soldiers, but it was an ambush, and those soldiers were also killed by the ISIS soldiers.

Dozens Killed in Two Syrian Cities

Tuesday, April 29th, 2014

Syrian soldiers and rebels killed more than 50 people and wounded more than 100 others in a car bomb blast in a regime-held neighborhood in Homs and mortar shelling attacks in Damascus.

The car bomb explosion killed 36 people and wounded more than 85, most of them civilians. In Damascus, at least 17 died and 50 other were wounded in the mortar shell barrage.

As usual, the regime of Syrian President Bassar al-Assad blamed rebels, whom it calls “terrorists,” for the attacks, which opposition forces apparently carried out considering that the victims in Homs were Alawites, the sect to which Assad belongs.

Human Rights Watch reports that Assad’s forces still are carrying out barrel-bomb attacks in the city of Aleppo, ignoring a U.N. resolution demanding a halt to the barbarian tactic.

However, virtually no one in Syria listens to the United Nations or anyone else as the civil war drags on in its fourth year, about three years after military and political “experts,” such as Ehud Barak of Israel, were dead certain that Assad would not last more than a few months.

Videos have been posted that show Hezbollah gunmen in fierce battles with Syrian rebels in the rebel-held town of Yabroud in the Qalamoun Mountains near eastern Lebanon.

US Backs Syrian Rebels’ Ultimatum to UN to Keep Iran Out of Talks

Monday, January 20th, 2014

The United States has backed an ultimatum by Syrian opposition forces to rescind an invitation to Iran to joint the Geneva II peace talks scheduled for Wednesday unless Tehran publicly accepts that the conference will establish a political process to end the rule of Syrian President Bassar al-Assad.

The peace talks appeared to be over before they were to start following an ultimatum Monday by the  Syrian National Coalition that the invitation be rescinded by Monday night.

“The Syrian Coalition announces that they will withdraw their attendance in Geneva II unless Ban Ki-moon retracts Iran’s invitation,” it said in a Twitter post.

The coalition said it could accept Iran at the talks only if it were to remove its forces  fighting with  to maintain his control of war-torn country.

Given pre-conditions by Assad and the Opposition concerning a future government, the chances of anything positive coming out of Geneva II are nil.

UN Human Rights Stops Updating Syrian Death Toll

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014

The United Nations no longer will report on how many people have been killed in the raging Syrian civil war because it says it no longer has enough sources in the field for reliable information.

The last official count by the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights was around 100,000, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has said  that the verified figure is 130,000 but could be as high as 200,000. The United Nations say it could confirm or deny the estimate.

The number has risen by a few hundred or more the past week because of as a second war, pitting opposition forces against Al Qaeda terrorists, whom rebels accused of abuses, although the number of fighters in the war who have not committed abuses is somewhere around zero.

kidnappings, torture, assassinations and public executions have become routine practice by forces loyal to Syrian President Bassar al-Assad and by the opposition.

A security official in Damascus, referring to rebels and the Al-Qaeda-linked Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant told AFP that, “nothing unites them except terrorism.”

And there is nothing that could unite all parties in the war – including jihadists and Assad – except Israel.
