A combined force of IDF Paratroopers, Armored, and Corp of Engineers battalions overnight Sunday uncovered and captured one of the largest illegal weapons factories in Judea seized this year. The factory, located in the basement of a residential building in Hebron.

The raid, led by Judea Brigade Commander Yitzhak Cohen, resulted in the arrest of the factory owner and the seizing of all the weapons, ammunition and production equipment, including 15 lathes. The factory employed between 10 and 15 workers on a regular basis, and further arrests are expected.

In addition to the lathes, the IDF seized in the raid 70 rifle barrels, hundreds of trigger housings, dozens of springs, hundreds of various caliber bullets, 60 gun parts, 5 magazines, 6 weapon handles, and a homemade M-16 rifle.

In 2016 the IDF executed hundreds of raids on suspected illegal weapons workshops, exposing 40 facilities and seizing more than 420 illegal weapons.
