Hanna Knyazyeva-Minenko’s, 25, won a silver medal in the women’s triple jump finals in the world championship competition in Beijing Monday.

Her performance set an Israeli record.

It was the third time an Israeli has won a medal at the championships since 1983,

“Everybody in Israel was watching this event and hoping for the first female medal at the world championships,” she said. “I cannot describe how emotional this moment is.”
