The Jerusalem Development Authority (JDA) on Wednesday announced the launch of a package of discounts for young professional tourists visiting Jerusalem on a city break.

Aimed at millennials in their twenties and thirties, the discount package allows millennials to experience some of Jerusalem’s top attractions and offers a wide range of exciting reductions on hotels and transport, historical tourist sites, festivals and events, restaurants and bars. The new millennials package, offers young professionals traveling for business or pleasure, the opportunity to discover Jerusalem for under $45 per day.

Alongside the city’s 3,000 years of history, for the discerning and well-traveled millennial, Jerusalem provides an exotic location with a vibrant nightlife and cultural scene, and is just a short haul destination for tourists from the UK and Europe.

Jerusalem has many attractions for culture lovers and offers an array of events and festivals that take place throughout the year. Through the package, millennial tourists receive 50% off the second ticket at the Night Spectacular, a 45-minute show celebrating Jerusalem’s history through sights and sounds. It takes place amidst the archaeological remains in the David Citadel’s courtyard, and to the sound of original music, virtual reality images tell the stories of King David, the Roman conquest, Muhammad, the Crusaders, and Suleiman the Magnificent, among other people and periods.

The offers includes a free tour of the Old City with Sandemans New Europe Tours, as well as 50% off the second ticket at the Tower of David Museum. Also known as David’s Citadel, it is one of Jerusalem’s most well-known sites and rests on the ruins of fortifications made by the Israelite, King David. In the modern city center, Jerusalem’s new neighborhoods offer visitors a vibrant night life and world-class culture. For the eco-friendly, Segway tours are a popular way of seeing the city, and the discount facilitates a 1+1 offer on selected Segway tours of Jerusalem’s modern neighborhoods.

Two hostels and six hotels are partnering with the City Break Millennials package and will cater to a wide range of budgets. The Abraham Hostel, Eyal Hotel, Herbert Samuel Hotel, Ibis City Center Hotel, Post Hostel and Shani Hotel will also offer a 15% discount on the booking or a free dinner. All are conveniently located in the City Center and close to the Old City, Jerusalem’s bustling restaurants and nightlife and the Machane Yehuda Market.

A must for “foodies,” Jerusalem’s culinary scene is a fusion of ancient and modern recipes and techniques, where ethnicities mesh together to create a unique tapestry of flavor in dishes that fuse together European, North African, and Mediterranean cuisines. Food enthusiasts will receive 50% off the BiteMojo card – an app that offers standalone self-guided food tours, allowing you to sample uniquely Israeli culinary delights via your mobile phone, while mixing with the locals at the iconic and bustling Machane Yehuda Market, which sells fresh produce by day and turns into an epicenter of nightlife after hours. Millennials will also receive a free alcohol shot at a number of bars, many of which are situated in Machane Yehuda Market.
