According to the army announcement, a number of Grad rocket launches were identified coming from Syria to the northern Golan Heights before 4 AM, and landed about 2 miles inside Syrian territory.

The IDF spokesman also said that the launches were executed by a Shiite militia sponsored by the Iranian Quds force, under the command of Qasem Soleimani.

“The IDF considers the Syrian regime responsible for any action that takes place inside its territory,” the army statement said.

Earlier on Monday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Sunday night that at least 18 Iranians and pro-Iran militia fighters were killed Sunday night in several explosions in the Al-Bokamal area in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor just west of the Euphrates which marks the international border between Syria and Iraq (See: Update: 18 Iranians Killed in Warplanes Attack on Syria-Iraq Border).
