As we prepare to recite the Days Of Awe’s solemn prayers in a heartfelt way, we pray that the Almighty will open the hearts and minds of our people – with the goal of living in peace with one another. We also strive for the nations of the world, led by their governments, to accept our yearning for peace and to work sincerely and honestly to achieve it.

Shas founder and MK Rabbi Nissim Zeev is chairman of the Knesset Caucus for Israel and Global Ethics. He is also chairman of the Joint Knesset Committee for Interior Affairs and Education, and founder and president of Nevat Israel Girls Seminary in Jerusalem.

About the Author: Member of Knesset Rabbi Nissim Zeev is a founding member the Shas Party and a former deputy mayor of Jerusalem.
