The Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum

Next week, one of the the Satmar Rebbes, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, is expected to visit the Zionist state on the occasion of his nephew’s wedding, as well as to fortify and strengthen the Haredi institutions in their righteous battle to avoid serving in the impure army while staying on the dole.

According to Kikar Hashabbat, the Rebbe’s visit will last one week, during which he will meet with leading Haredi rabbis and speak words of encouragement as well as some rebuke before his own Chassidim. Central point—you guessed it—the decree of yeshiva students serving in the army.

The Rebbe is expected to spend one day in Jerusalem, and so the Chassidim have been bidding for the privilege of hosting him in their homes overnight.

The winner, according to Kikar Hashabbat, following a heated bidding war among all the rich men of Satmar, is the honorable dignitary Rabbi Aher Lev, son of the honorable dignitary Rabbi Yeshiahu Wolf, head of the London Satmar community.

The honor will cost the winner $1.1 million, which he pledged to the Satmar institutions in Jerusalem, for support to yeshiva and kollel students.

The Rebbe will be staying in R. Asher Lev Wolf’s luxurious apartment on Minchat Yitzchak Street in Jerusalem, where he will be receiving visitors next Wednesday.
