Next week, one of the the Satmar Rebbes, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, is expected to visit the Zionist state on the occasion of his nephew’s wedding, as well as to fortify and strengthen the Haredi institutions in their righteous battle to avoid serving in the impure army while staying on the dole.

According to Kikar Hashabbat, the Rebbe’s visit will last one week, during which he will meet with leading Haredi rabbis and speak words of encouragement as well as some rebuke before his own Chassidim. Central point—you guessed it—the decree of yeshiva students serving in the army.

The Rebbe is expected to spend one day in Jerusalem, and so the Chassidim have been bidding for the privilege of hosting him in their homes overnight.

The winner, according to Kikar Hashabbat, following a heated bidding war among all the rich men of Satmar, is the honorable dignitary Rabbi Aher Lev, son of the honorable dignitary Rabbi Yeshiahu Wolf, head of the London Satmar community.

The honor will cost the winner $1.1 million, which he pledged to the Satmar institutions in Jerusalem, for support to yeshiva and kollel students.

The Rebbe will be staying in R. Asher Lev Wolf’s luxurious apartment on Minchat Yitzchak Street in Jerusalem, where he will be receiving visitors next Wednesday.

  1. I careless, Haredi are not Jews. People like them should go else where .

  2. “A HEATED BIDDING WAR AMONG ALL THE RICH MEN OF SATMAR”??? All the Rebbes who I know, never “charged” or were “bid on” or were “raffled off”, even if the final price was given to Tzedakah. Rebbes are supposed to be there for their followers – to answer their questions, to give them advice – not to be “seen” or “visited” by those who could not afford to “pay for him”. WHAT ABOUT ALL THE POORER PEOPLE – DON’T THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO BENEFIT FROM THE REBBE’S WISDOM???

  3. It is wisdom to reject Israel. I don’t think so.

  4. Dan Silagi says:

I hope Israel doesn't let this enemy of the state and the Jewish people in.

  5. Ann Cohen says:

Reb Yolish would never have done this

  6. Mr. Frankel Rebbe’s wisdom???

can you offer us Beyonce instead

  8. The Rebbe selling indulgences!

  9. He lives in Jerusalem and doesn’t recognize Israel as a Jewish State?

  10. Wouldn’t pay a penny to be near these people who have set themselves apart and are no longer part of our people !

  11. How much do we have to put together to never have to hear from these jew haters again?

  12. I hate this glorification of mere humans. They should be ashamed of profiting of there reputation.

  13. Price of hosting the Satmar Rebbe overnight = Priceless!
(Not to mention the mitzvah miles in olam habah!)

  14. Satmar is not on the Israeli dole – a lot of satmar chassidim in israel work and/or own businesses – otherwise they live off of charity from Satmar – it is against their belief to accept money from Israeli government

  15. Todd Carter says:

I agree, people should know what they are talking about before publishing articles. this is bad-talking.

  16. Ben II says:

Satmar is a cult and anti-Israel. Why is this cult leader traveling to Israel? Israel should deny his entry.

  17. Aldo Mimoun says:

Idolatry pure and simple. He should join the Israeli army and encourage all the haredim to follow suit. I am certain God will understand that without us Jews there is no God. And without a powerful Israel there would be no Jews and no God left on this earth, or somewhere where he/she resides.

  18. Ora Cooper says:

every satmer "avrech" (young man) should immediatly be deleted off the Dole list (bituach leumi) ! a million + for a rebbe? dont encourage the Shnor machine !

  19. Sylvia Poe says:

Why is this not labeled as an opinion piece and runs as a HEADLINE – the very first headline no less? What does this say?

  20. to Ann Cohen – the old Rebbe zya did ask for big money to come to Chicago – but he gave it back to renovate Chicago mikvah because of a letter he received from a woman in Chicago

  21. Satmar does not take money from bituach leumi

  22. David HaMelech was a soldier
    Yehoshua was a soldier
Hashem loved them. Join the army!

  23. Leo Erwin says:

Being just a simple Jewish dude that has been in the country most of my life…living a observant quiet existence…I often have wondered why Haredi are remarked as not Jewish . I have heard of this numerous times…and my Rabbi sez it is for me to discover. So…I am taking it that they are to some and to some are not…….any remarks would be appreciated….Shalom…

  24. Ben Ehrhardt says:

Your Rabbi is wise. Mine says the same thing. Less observant Jews don't like how the Ultra Orthodox "get all up inteir goodies", especially in Israel. Then, there's the whole Sefardic vs Ashenazi "Who's really a Jew?" debate. The Satmars are a very interesting group. My personal opinion is, "Whoever is brave (or maybe dumb) enough to want to be an Orthodox Jew, and observe the Mitzvot, in a world that is still very dangerous of those openly Jewish…… they're Jews. Me, I have papers. But, look at "Who" asks to see them.

  25. Sara Chana Mandell says:

Satmar do take welfare and this is a fact of life I pay for! The Satmar are disgraceful Jew-hating sectarians and are only above Neturi Karta. You dislike "the Zionist state" because it isn't "Jewish enough" yet you and your people did NOTHING to build a state! Satmar love to pray at the Tomb of the Patriachs in a Hebron and at the wailing wall in Jerusalem! Both built by Herod, if he was even Jewish he certainly was not religious! So you can venerate what Herod built but stick your finger at what Golda Meir built?! **** your self righteous indignation. Stay in galut where your ghetto mindset belong!

  26. Sara Chana Mandell says:

Believe the lie dude… They take the money like everyone else… They are on the dole. If the satmar community can afford this amount then they can afford to pay for themselves and stop taking money for welfare, and STAR PAYING FIR THEIR OWN SECURITY so the Israeli police and army will no longer be burdened with this ****ty community.

  27. Cookie Jar says:

Who doesnt love a good righteous battle?

  28. to Sara Chana Mandell – Satmar doesn't allow their chassidim to go to the Western Wall or Hebron – you have no idea what you are talking about – as far as defense, we wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for the Zionists – before the 1890's when the Zionists started coming, Jews and Arabs lived in peace.

  29. Idolatry? I might call it idiocy, but its not idolatry. I hate their ideology, but on the other hand, going with the IDF and blindly following it is more like idolatry then that. And Yes I am pro- IDF but only when it fights against the Arab enemies and nothing more (especially not when it fights against Jews, which is evil!)

  30. They were also religious, so become Torah observant.

  31. Mozik Bukharsky Agreed mea ahuz :-)

  32. Mozik Bukharsky and "become Torah observant" is addressed to whom? :-)

  33. to Andrez – in order to Jews to fight wars, we need a prophet to establish a State – we were sent into exile and need to wait for Moshiach

  34. Dear Readers
Why is it that I only see such deep hatred for your fellow religious Jews the Haredim and Hassidim – paralleled or more than your hatred for Arabs and Muslims, is it because their strict lifestyles threaten your own peace, or is it just because they remind you of the old traditions, but, I do not understand how you can hate so much those of your own religion? Are they really the worst sect of Judaism?
Anyway I have gone through every article written about these ultra religious – and they are all written in a nasty, vicious, sarcastic at-the-best, way possible.
The comments after are normally loaded with loathing jeering and nasty jibes – loaded with hared!
Are you all there, really Jews? Orthodox Jews?
Sorry – but I loved Jews.
