A U.N. agency employee based in Jerusalem who tweeted an incendiary anti-Israel photo nearly a year ago was removed from her position.

Khulood Badawi, the information and media coordinator for the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Jerusalem, was dismissed on Wednesday. The OCHA explained Badawi’s removal as a contract non-renewal, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The office had launched an internal investigation into the incident, and Badawi was sent on an extended vacation, according to the HonestReporting monitoring agency.

Badawi’s tweet last March 10 showed a dead, blood-covered Palestinian girl in the arms of her father who Badawi said had been killed by an Israeli airstrike on Gaza. It turned out to be a 2006 Reuters photo, and the girl had died in a playground or car accident, according to various reports, including information supplied by HonestReporting.

In her tweet, Badawi wrote “Palestine is bleeding … another child killed by #Israel … another father carrying his child to a grave in #Gaza.”

Badawi neither retracted nor apologized for her inaccurate tweet.

Astonishing. I thought the UN had morphed into an anti-Israel cabal. Could be this is a one-off event but we can wait and see.

  2. Rozalyn Landisburg says:

WHY DID IT TAKE THE U.N. ALMOST A YEAR TO REMOVE THIS LYING.
REPORTER? THE U.N. ALLOWED PEOPLE TO CONTINUE TO INCORRECTLY INCORRECTLY BELIEVE THAT ISRAEL KILLED THIS CHILD.

IF ISRAEL OR A JEWISH PERSON ALLEGEDLY DOES SOMETHING WRONG.
WORLD CONDMENATION AND U.N. CONDMENATION ARE IMMEDIATE.

  3. THIS IS A TYPICAL CASE OF LYING TO THE MEDIA AND THE WORLD TO FURTHER THE CAUSE OF THE PALESTINIANS. IF THEY USED ALL THIS BRILLIANT ENERGY TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION AND STANDARD OF LIVING BY GETTING REAL JOBS THEY WOULD AND COULD BE FAR AHEAD OF WHERE THEY ARE TODAY. BUT, NO, THEY'D RATHER HAVE THEIR HANDS OUTSTRETCHED FOR $$$ WITHOUT HAVING TO WORK FOR IT. PITY.

  4. Geri Levine says:

I'm surprised the UNITED NATIONS of BEASTS did anything!

  5. Anonymous says:

…hmmmmm imagine that….the palestinian press telling a lie? what will they do next claim a living person is a corpse?

  6. Robin Rosenblatt says:

This is called "Al-Takeyya" lying to advance Islam.
