Exercising is an excellent activity that can be very beneficial – emotionally and physically! It causes an increase in the endorphins in your body, which will in turn make you more relaxed and happy.

I always give mothers an analogy. When you are on an airplane, they tell you that in case of a crash, you must make sure to put on your own oxygen mask before putting on your children’s, as you cannot take care of them unless you can breathe. The same holds true in life. If you don’t let yourself breathe or do something you enjoy, you will not be able to take care of your children and your husband appropriately.  If exercise isn’t something that appeals to you, take a class, go to a shuir or anything that you find relaxing and gratifying. Whatever you decide to do, remember that you are doing this so that you will be a better mother because feeling guilty when you get out will not help your situation.
