A Northern District police officer was seriously wounded at the intersection of Highways 60 and 75 in Nazareth on Sunday evening when an unidentified driver rammed into him at high speed.

The driver was heading towards Afula at the time, according to police. The officer had motioned for the vehicle to pull over and stop but was ignored by the driver, who fled immediately after running him over.
