A single rocket was fired Wednesday afternoon at the Red Sea resort city of Eilat, the IDF said.

The rocket, fired from Gaza, headed toward the Hevel Eilot Regional Council district, but disintegrated in midair, with the remnants landing in an open, unpopulated area.

“In accordance with the protocol, an alert was activated on the Home Front Command app only in an open area,” the IDF said.
