Thanks to Divine assistance rendered to whatever eff orts and resources we have been able to marshal, the Jewish people have survived and overcome physical threats from without for millennia. It is the threat from within, the threat we oft en choose neither to see nor to say something about, that has too often been our misfortune. Such a threat has arisen again.
