Lebanon's Prime Minister Sa'ad Hariri

The Lebanese government led by Prime Minister Sa’ad Hariri is expected to resign within the next 24 hours, according to a report broadcast on Saturday by the Al-Hadith television channel.

Contacts are reportedly underway to form a transitional government of 14 ministers who are not affiliated with any political party, according to a report by Roi Kais, Arab affairs reporter for Israel’s Kann public broadcasting network.

 

Al-Hadith reported the decision was made Friday at a meeting between Hariri and Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun.
