Ivanka Trump has decided to shut down her name-brand clothing and accessories business.

The daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump cited challenges to the business imposed by the restrictions that came along with her position at the White House as an adviser to the president, according to reports by American media.

She has faced a firestorm of criticism claiming that her position presents a conflict of interest, due to the convergence of politics and business in national affairs.

Trump says that after 17 months in Washington she does not know when or if she will ever return to the business, but she does know that her focus for the foreseeable future will be the work she is doing in the American capital — “so making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners.”
