Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday met with Uruguayan Foreign Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem. The two signed a customs cooperation agreement.

Netanyahu thanked the Uruguayan Foreign Minister for his country’s friendship and support, and for its important pro-Israel position at the UN Assembly as well as the Security Council.

The Prime Minister said that bilateral cooperation between the two countries should be expanded, among other things in the fields of agriculture and technology, and commented on Israel’s improving relationships with the nations of Latin America.

Foreign Minister Novoa said his country’s friendship and commitment to Israel have continued since the 29 November 1947 UN partition vote all the way up to the important role being played by Uruguayan Ambassador to the UN Enrique Rodríguez Fabregat.
