Terror Returns to Beirut; Israel Blamed for Bomb Blast (Video)

Violence in Syria and Egypt made people forget Lebanon is a tinder box. It blew up – again – on Tuesday. A bomb blast in Beirut wounded dozens of people. Israel, naturally, is blamed.

A powerful car bomb blasted the illusive quiet in a Hezbollah area of Beirut Tuesday, wounding at least 50 people.  No deaths have been reported, despite initial accounts that “one to several” people died in the explosion.

Hezbollah blamed Israel for the attack.

The car bomb exploded in a supermarket parking lot in the Bir al-Abed district shortly before noon, leaving a 6-foot by 6-foot crater, burning at least 10 other vehicles and damaging others. Ambulances and fire trucks raced to the scene, which was cordoned off by police. A fire was still burning out of control near a gasoline station.

Most of  the wounded and taken to two local hospitals and were not in critical condition, the Beirut Daily Star reported.

In May, two rockets hit another Beirut suburb and wounded four people, hours after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah confirmed that his terrorist guerillas were fighting alongside loyalists to Syrian President Bassar al-Assad against rebels.

Hezbollah Parliament member Ali Ammar told the Star that Tuesday’s attack targeted the Hezbollah neighborhood because Hezbollah “has confronted the U.S.-Israeli project in the region. [The attack] “clearly bears the fingerprint of the Israeli enemy and its tools.”

Hezbollah’s open and erect involvement in the Syrian civil war has inflamed tensions in Lebanon, where the government has been walking on thin ice for years, trying to balance off pro-Syrian and Hezbollah’s political arm with nationalists and the fiercely anti-Syrian Sunni Muslim community.

Two rockets from Syria smashed inside Lebanon Monday and hit a Hezbollah-dominated area.

Hezbollah ain’t smart to disown Assad & Iran while the whole World is stunned watching the endangered species of the corrupt Egyptian Army kidnapped & butchered in thousands by the Brotherhood. Hezbollah joined Assad conquest in Homs committing Genocide against Muslims Elders, Women & Children. I am surprised that eighteen hurt as car bomb hits Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut. Probably it’s a wakeup call.

  2. Anthony Davis says:

"Israel is naturally blamed". Naturally; just recall to mind the King David and Semiramis Hotel terrorist bombings, which killed hundreds of non-Jews; the Patria bombing, which killed and wounded dozens of people; the Lavon Affair bombings, etc. A nation can't practice terrorism and then complain when people see them as suspects in other, similar acts.

  3. Ed Karesky says:

The usual pathetic "Israel is to blame" instead of acknowledging that Syrian rebels attacked someone aiding their enemies.

  4. A war between Lebanon(hezbollah) and Syria in the near future is inevitable.

  5. Rose Galston says:

What kind of smug trash talking "A-Hole" are you….or are you just a self loathing JEW? The Israeli's are the major terrorists in the world….Puleeeeze get a life tony!

  6. Judy Git says:

News flash: Car bombs? Mr. Nasrallah, that's been more the modus operendi of your cronies, not Israel, don't you think? Oh – silly me. You DON'T think at all, do you?

  7. Dave Elliot says:

douchebag has to go back 70 years to try to equate Israel (haganah's fight against British) to the terrorism perpetuiated by Islamic forces on an hourly basis. go to hell, lying s.o.b.

  8. Dan Silagi says:

This douche blamed Israel for the Boston Marathon bombings; it's right on his Facebook page.

  9. Ron Wolf says:

Rose for a moment I thought your real name was Rania. If you are going to quote someone else eg Tony baloney use quotation marks!

  10. Ron Wolf says:

Almost every Moslem I know here is glad they are over here and not there, they are disgusted. Maybe this is divind payback for the Grand Mufti's helping Hitler with genocide? To bad he is already dead, he needs to be killed again, and again again along with Adolf and crew. NEVER FORGET!
