The war against the Islamic State (ISIS) is not going to be solved with a few aerial bombing raids but “is going to take a long time,” Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby said at a joint press conference at the State Department Thursday afternoon.

He also said there are a dozen “American adviser teams” working at a “very high level” but that no U.S. personnel are on the grounds and that American soldiers will not step foot on Syrian soil.
