The Israel Defense Forces hosted their British counterparts this week in a three-day joint military rescue exercise involving naval and air forces.

It was the largest such drill in the past decade, using scenarios that focused on rescue efforts involving civilians trapped on ships in stormy weather.

The forces operated out of the Palmachim Air Base near the coastal city of Rishon LeZion.
