UN General Assembly

Here’s a quick list of the nations who opposed the UN General Assembly vote rejecting recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on Thursday (Dec. 21), and who chose to abstain. Those who supported the measure, which was aimed directly at U.S. President Donald Trump and the State of Israel, were in the majority. The vote passed, 128-9, with 35 abstentions.

In her remarks just ahead of the vote, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley warned, “This vote will make a difference on how Americans look at the UN and on how we look at countries who disrespect us in the UN. And this vote will be remembered.”
