Peres, finally out of work in the government, tries his luck at the supermarket check-out counter.

The Shimon Peres Center for Peace has come up with a “going-away” gift for the recently retired president, who is depicted as a job-seeker without credentials for the modern world.

Several scenes are a great parody on the 91-year-old Peres, who built a legacy around the word “peace” when the reality often was “piece,” referring to surrenders of land to the Palestinian Authority in return for continuing terror and incitement for more terror.

In the video, his credentials as a politician are nearly worthless, and he finally finds work, pumping gas, checking out groceries at the supermarket, working as a guard, delivering pizza and trying out as a stand-up comedian, which falls flat on its face just like the failure of his pitches for peace.

Suddenly, the video shows Peres as coach for a paratrooper, a joke in itself since Peres’ military service was limited to a desk jobs after he joined the Haganah in 1947 and for the Defense Ministry after the re-establishment of the State of Israel a year later.

After Peres and his “student” land on the ground, he says on the video that “we have a lot of work to do,” and the video skips to the grand finale pictures of Arabs and Jews working together.

That is the way it is supposed to be in a country founded as a Jewish state on the basis of co-existence.

The Oslo Accords, championed so much by Peres and which helped him be awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace, also were supposed to lead to the co-existence of two countries, side by side.

Instead, the Accords literally blew up in Israel’s face as the Palestinian Authority used rifles, provided by the Rabin-Peres administration, to kill Israelis.

It is ironic that the Peres Center for Peace continues the legacy of illusions of the former president.

One day, real peace might happen if that is what most Arabs want.

For now, current generations of Arabs are growing up brainwashed by the Palestinian Authority that their future country is to replace every inch of land in Israel.

Peace will happen one day, but only despite of, and not because of, Peres’ life-long wheeling and dealing with Palestinian Authority leaders whose positions of power are dependent on no peace with Israel.

It won’t happen this year.

Don’t make too many bets on next year.

Nonetheless, enjoy the video, it is funny.
