Zusha - New York Hasidic Hipster Band

For a band whose mission is to unite people together, Zusha takes comfort in that there is already being a strong familial environment in Israel.

“It feels like everyone is family here, from the cab driver to the waiter, to the person at the cash register– it just feels like everyone here is connected,” Elisha said to TPS. “You also have a sense of comfort and appreciation for both people who are and who are not like you and that’s something which I really think is at the heart of what we’re trying to do which is finding common ground between people through a certain spiritual anonymity of just singing niggunim.”

“What I actually found to be somewhat comforting was that when you come here, you realize that when people fight here, they are fighting as if they were family members,” said Zechariah to TPS.

Zusha continues to remain committed and hopeful with its mission to spread unity among people. “It was after we selected the name Zusha for our band that we discovered that the name is actually an acronym for each of our names, so there’s almost somewhat a Divine sense that God was a part of this and that it was coming from a very pure and authentic place for us,” Elisha said to TPS.
