A wealthy Russian Jewish leader and businessman was critically wounded by a single gunshot in an attempted murder that could have been prompted by anti-Semitism but also may have been related to revenge.

The victim was identified as Sergey Ustinov, who was shot in the neck with a sawed-off pistol.

Ustinov founded the Museum of the History of Jews in Russia and is a member of the board of the Russian Jewish Congress.
