Update: 2 IDF Soldiers Rescued in Kalandia After Gun Battle [video]

Tuesday, March 1st, 2016

Two young IDF soldiers accidentally drove into the Kalandia refugee camp, east of Jerusalem, on Monday night, around 10 PM.

The local Arabs attacked their vehicle with stones and firebombs.

Contact was lost with them as the Arabs burnt their jeep up.

The two soldiers managed to escape the vehicle, but in separate directions.

IDF forces and Border Policemen went in to rescue the soldiers. Arabs attacked the security force rescue teams with stones, firebombs and gunfire.

Some reports indicate that the Border Policemen primarily used riot control weapons and not live fire to disperse the attackers.

The first soldier was found and rescued 20 minutes after the attack began, the second soldier was only found and rescued after midnight, two hours later.

During the rescue mission, 5 Border Policemen were injured, 1 was moderately wounded, and 4 more were lightly wounded.

They were taken to Hadassah hospital for treatment.

The Arabs report multiple wounded among their combatants, with numbers anywhere from 4 to as high as 30.

IDF Discovers Knives, Bullets, Axes and Incitement Material in Overnight Raid

Wednesday, December 16th, 2015

By Alexander J. Apfel/TPS

The IDF discovered a large weapons cache last night during an operation to arrest two wanted terrorists from the Qalandiya refugee camp adjacent to Jerusalem.

The wide scale operation was conducted by the Binyamin brigade in cooperation with the police, border police and civilian administration. As IDF forces scoured the area and conducted the arrests however, they were forced to contend with dozens of rioting Palestinians and armed terrorists who began firing at Israeli personnel.

Nobody was injured in the riots. However, as IDF forces searched a number of houses in the camp, the elite units of duvduvan and Shaked discovered a cache of weapons which included protective vests, thousands of bullets for a variety of firearms, magazines, incitement material, knives and axes.

An operation by the Givati brigade last night was also interrupted after a man attempted to run over a group of soldiers in the same refugee camp.

The soldiers fired on and successfully neutralized the assailant, who Palestinian media identified as 21-year-old Ahmed Hassan Jehajeh from Qalandiya. However, three were injured from what appeared to be friendly fire. All three were evacuated to hospital, one in moderate condition and two remaining in light condition.

During a separate incident, another car ramming was attempted but none was injured. The terrorist, Hihmat Hamdan from al-Bireh was also killed.

Arabs Riot after IDF Kills Terrorist Throwing Bomb at Soldiers

Tuesday, December 16th, 2014

Palestinian Authority Arab riots are attacking Israeli police and soldiers at the Kalandia, between Ramallah and Jerusalem, Tuesday morning in protest of the death of an Arab rioter in the same areas last night when the IDF tried to arrest a suspected weapons dealer.

Soldiers entered Kalandia at night to arrest the man and were met with dozens of rioters. When one of them threw an explosive device at the soldiers, they fired back and killed the attacker.

The Arab version is that the man was shot in cold blood and simply was sitting on the roof of his house watching the action.

The Palestinian Authority has damaged itself over the years with a severe credibility gap that firing media no longer can ignore since Hamas was caught red-handed time after time lying to them during the war in Gaza last summer.

The Palestinian Authority made matters worse for itself the past few weeks by claiming that two men were murdered even though autopsy reports, issued by Arab and Jewish doctors, proved otherwise.

The first case was a Jerusalem Arab bus driver who hanged himself. The PA version is that “settlers” murdered him.

The second case was last week when an autopsy showed that a Palestinian Authority minister, suffering from heart disease and high blood pressure, died from a heart attack brought on by stress during a clash with Israeli soldiers. Tear gas that was fired to disperse the rioters contributed to the stress.

Now comes the claim that soldiers, confronting dozens of Arabs going wild and throwing everything but the kitchen at them, decided to turn their attention to a supposed peaceful Arab who was bored and went on the roof to watch the riot.
