Security is tight in New York City as police gear up for the Celebrate Israel Parade which steps off at 11 am Sunday at 57th Street, proceeding up Fifth Avenue to Central Park.

More than a thousand NYPD police officers, bomb-sniffing dogs, police snipers deployed on rooftops along the route and radiation-detection devices are being employed to protect marchers and spectators.

Sanitation trucks filled with sand are parked along the route as well, blocking streets, to prevent vehicle ramming attacks.
