New Outpost in Memory of Arab Terror Victim

Thursday, May 2nd, 2013

The Shomron (Samaria) Regional Council moved its offices to the site of Tuesday’s lethal terrorist attack and posted a sign “Eviyatar” at what is intended to become a new outpost in memory of the victim, 31-year-old Eviyatar Borovsky of Yitzhar.

“The Zionist response is to deepen Jewish roots in the land,” said Samaria Regional Council chairman Gerhson Mesika. He said he will operate the council’s offices at the site until families are able to move there.

An army previously was located on the hilltop overlooking the Tapuach Junction in northern Samaria.

Outpost Fathers Arrested in Middle of the Night and then Freed

Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013

Border police swooped down on the Eish Kodesh outpost late Monday night and arrested five men who were released only hours later concerning an incident several weeks ago in which a Palestinian Authority Arab infiltrator was wounded.

The Honenu legal defense organization called the arrest a “political provocation by the police,” who lawyers said knew ahead of time the outcome of the investigation that lasted several hours at the Maaleh Adumim police station.

“There is no reason in the world to arrest adults in front of their little children in the middle of the night,” said a Honenu lawyer.

Police searched their homes and confiscated their weapons during the raid, which was connected with a recent infiltration at Eish Kodesh by neighboring Arab villagers, one of whom said he was hit by a bullet from an M-16 rifle.

All five men who were arrested were members of the first response team, and one of them is an IDF solider.

The Arab infiltrators had reached a vineyard on the hilltop when IDF reinforcements arrived with riot gear but apparently without rifles. At the soldiers’ request, one of the Eish Kodesh team fired twice in the air, according to army orders. Border Police then arrived at the scene and took command, and one of them apparently injuring an Arab while distancing the infiltrators from the community.

Army Violently Evacuates Oz Etzion Outpost

Sunday, January 20th, 2013

At the Oz Etzion (Jewish) outpost in the Binyamin region, a large number of troops arrived on Saturday night to expel the residents and destroy the homes that were built there.

There are two permanent homes built on the site. They were rebuilt there after troops destroyed the homes that were on the hill a month ago.

According to the Tazpit News agency, troops violently attacked the local residents, after they asked the troops to not destroy the equipment that was there.

One person was reported to have been pepper sprayed after he was handcuffed, while a second was violently attacked and his camera was taken away, on which he had recorded the violence.

Saturday, January 19th, 2013

On Saturday, Palestinians tried to set up another illegal outpost. This latest attempt was in the Jordan Valley, near the town of Maskiot.

Border Police took down the 19 tents. No Arabs were arrested, and injuries were reported on either side.

Last week, Arabs set up an illegal outpost in E1, near Maaleh Adumim, which was eventually taken down.

On Friday, the Arabs built an illegal tent outpost next to Ramot in Jerusalem.
