Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Monday morning with Nauru President Baron Waqa, the leader of a small island in the Pacific Ocean, and the third smallest nation in the world.

Nauru has friendly relations with the State of Israel. President Waqa asked Prime Minister Netanyahu that Israel assist his country in medical training, water technology, waste management and innovation.

“You have been our wonderful friend. It’s a pleasure to receive you in the land of Israel and the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said at the meeting. “I hope you have an excellent visit that reflects our excellent relations.”

Waqa met Sunday with his Israeli counterpart, President Reuven Rivlin, at the Presidential Residence in Jerusalem.
