A Rare Image of the US Bunker Buster that May Bomb Iran

Tuesday, November 12th, 2013

A rare image of the B-2 stealth bomber and the 15-ton Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), otherwise known as the bunker buster bomb, was recently posted by the Aviationist, operated by David Cenciotti.

The B-2 Spirit stealth bomber is the only U.S. Air Force aircraft that has the capability to carry the massive bombs and drop it on an Iranian underground nuclear facility. The 20-foot long buster bomb is guided by a GPS system and is believed to be able to penetrate 2300 feet of concrete before detonation.

The F-35 stealth bomber still under construction, also designed to carry heavy bombs, has been thought to be used as an attack plane on Iran if the time comes for a military strike, but the B-2 fills the bill.

The image above was photographed by Jim Mumaw. “There are not many images showing the GBU-57 and even less show the MOP next to its intended platform,” Cenciotti wrote on his web blog.

Congress allocated money in 2009 to accelerate the MOP project, and the legislators last year approved an additional $81.6 million to improve the bomb.

The B-2, manned by a pilot and mission commander, already has been flown by dozens of pilots. The plane can carry two MOPs. Its stealth design enables it to enter enemy territory without detection.

Two B-2s flew a round trip of 13,000 miles last March from an Air Force base in Missouri to South Korea, dropping dummy bombs on a target range.

Netanyahu Says Iran Deal Is ‘Historic Mistake’

Friday, November 8th, 2013

Amid reports that a deal is near that would ease crippling sanctions on Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a “historic mistake.”

An agreement on what is being called a first-step deal is expected by Friday, when the current round of negotiations in Geneva between Western powers and Iran is scheduled to end.

The P5+1 world powers, comprised of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (Russia, the United States, China, France and Britain) plus Germany, began a new round of negotiations on Thursday with Iran in an effort to halt the Islamic Republic’s suspected nuclear weapons program.

Under the reported Western proposal, Iran would receive limited sanctions relief in exchange for an agreement to curtail nuclear enrichment activities.

“This is the deal of the century, for Iran,” Netanyahu told a group of visiting U.S. congressmen on Thursday. “Because Iran is essentially giving nothing and it’s getting all the air taken out, the air begins to be taken out of the pressure cooker that it took years to build in the sanctions regime.

“What we’re having today is a situation that Iran is giving up, at best, a few days of enrichment time, but the whole international regime’s sanctions policy has the air taken out of it. That’s a big mistake. It will relieve all the pressure inside Iran; it is a historic mistake, a grievous historic error.”

Iran insists that its nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes.

Netanyahu Warns Americans ‘Iranian ICBMs Would Be Able to Hit US’

Thursday, October 3rd, 2013

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu focused the Iranian nuclear threat on the United States Thursday, telling Americans through a CBS interview that Iran is developing Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) to threaten them.

“The American intelligence knows as well as we do that Iran is developing ICBMs not to reach Israel. They want to reach well beyond,” he said on the network’s “This Morning” program. “They’re not developing those ICBMs for us. They can reach us with what they have. It’s for you.”

The networked quoted a senior Israeli security official as saying that the threat of Iranian ICBMs is a “few years” away.

Rohani – Not So Moderate After All

Friday, August 2nd, 2013

The difference between an Iranian extremist and an Iranian moderate, is that an Iranian extremists wants all Israelis dead now, while an Iranian moderate is willing to wait until next Tuesday.

Iranian president Rohani just revealed that calling him a moderate would be incorrect.

During an Al Quds Day celebration, Rohani said, “The Zionist regime has been a wound on the body of the Islamic world for years and the wound should be removed.”

Not to be outdone, former Iranian president Ahmedinijad let loose at one of the rallies and said, “I will inform you with God as my witness, a devastating storm is on the way that will uproot the basis of Zionism,” and just for emphasis added that Israel “has no place in this world.”

Iran is rushing to complete its nuclear weapons program, presumably to commit genocide and launch its missiles at Israel.

In response, Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Rohani’s true face has been exposed sooner than expected. Even if his comments will quickly be denied – that’s what the man thinks and that’s the Iranian regime’s game plan.”

Of course, if the US pressured peace talks manage to evict Israel from significant portions of the Land of Israel, that won’t leave much left for the Iranians to remove.
