  1. I am amazed at this "haredim" that accept the freedom from persecution that Israel offers them without the obligation of helping defend the country. They are not deserving of all the benefits that they are given

  2. But they would scream for the army to come and bail them out if God forbid they are attacked…..right? Of course the CHUMASH nor the kETUVIM never ever speak of an army.

  3. Shallow journalism, showing complete lack of insight into the issue at hand. The current Chareidi-bashing frenzy is nothing but Loshon Hora and hate mongering of the worse kind. I am disgusted by the lack of academic integrity of this publication.

  4. but didnt the Israelites have an army when they journeyed on the way to the promised land when led by Moses and Joshua? so where does the Torah say you cant fight for your country? especially since the Lord G-d has been instrumental in returning them to their own home land?

  7. I agree. The Haredim, unlike the other Israelis aren't required to serve in the army, and unlike the other Israelis they are also supported by the Government . That is very unfair.

  8. Sientje Seinen: I love Israel very much. I love the Jewish Nation very much. I have a deep appreciation for the entire humanity and for every creature that the All Mighty has created in His infinite Grace and Wisdom. In my work; meet regularly with members of the extreme Ultra-Orthodox community and I am a volunteer with the Police. My son is serving in the Army, and he has my full backing and support. What I am objecting to is the statement: "Rabbi Auerbach and his merry band of Haredim needed a pawn to serve their political aims….." This is shallow and arrogant journalism that can only be condemned.

  9. The statement: "They are not deserving of all the benefits" is typical dehumanization propaganda. It is one step before human right violations and crimes against humanity take place.
